CSR Policy

We offer both guests and employees free access to our outdoor facilities, such as the use of our own park, forest and the use of our bicycles. We have a strong focus on the importance of fresh air for our meeting guests, and therefore we encourage our guests to take a break during the day for a walk by the water and in the forest. Our employees have a health plan and are continuously informed about the opportunities this gives them. In addition, we have been a gold sponsor of the Team Rynkeby Foundation's fundraising for the Children's Cancer and Children's Lung Foundation for several years, as well as a sponsor of Skt. Knuds Golf Club and Nyborg Talent School musical.

We monitor our water consumption closely and work to reduce it and reuse it as much as possible for watering flowers. Every time we replace a faucet, we change it to a water-saving faucet.

Our light sources are continuously replaced with energy-saving LED bulbs throughout the hotel, and all newly purchased appliances and machinery are purchased as energy-saving.

We educate industry students and have a close collaboration with Kold College. We have employed flexible jobs in accounting and are continuously training our own staff so that they are constantly developing and improving their skills. Hotel Hesselet has 50 or more employees and will therefore be covered by the Danish Whistleblower Protection Act from December 17, 2023.

We sort waste and use an approved haulier to collect all waste. We are constantly increasing our focus on food waste and our raw material consumption and make extensive use of local suppliers, and we have our own herb beds that we use in our cooking. We use environmentally friendly cleaning products and are GreenKey certified and have a strong focus on continuously reducing the consumption of printing paper and only purchase the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.

Electric cars: At Hotel Hesselet we have two types of chargers for electric cars – Two Tesla chargers and 4 Clever chargers. Deposited glass/bottles are collected by staff and sorted into the kitchen containers and bags. The containers are collected by the brewery and the Danish Recycling System. Waiters and kitchen staff sort food into food bins. Food waste bins are collected by Reno Fyn.
