Hotel Hesselet focuses on the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct is based on the UN Global Compacts and consists of 10 principles on human rights, labor rights, the environment and anti-corruption.
We will regularly be developing new environmental projects, among other things, to ensure that we have the right knowledge about the working environment, ethics and accessibility at the hotel.
We are a member of and have entered into a collective agreement with the industry organization HORESTA.
International tourism eco-label: Green Key
Here at Hotel Hesselet we are Green Key certified. With this certificate, you as a guest are guaranteed an eco-labeled hotel that makes an effort to save water and energy, constantly takes care of the environment, and continuously creates new initiatives for environmental improvements in everyday life.
The criteria for becoming Green Key certified involve fulfilling mandatory and optional requirements that span 12 areas: Environmental management, staff involvement, guest information, water, laundry and cleaning, waste, energy, food, smoking and indoor climate, outdoor areas, green activities and administration.

Our focus
At Hotel Hesselet we focus on:
- to involve staff in responsibilities, initiatives and environmental issues in relation to Green Key.
- to create visible environmentally oriented information for the guest.
- to sort waste and have agreements with suppliers about returnable packaging.
- to have information material for the guest about nearby natural areas.
- that the kitchen prepares with, among other things, Funen ingredients and uses its own herb garden.
- that our linen and towels are washed at a Nordic Ecolabel laundry.
- to use cleaning products that are Nordic Ecolabelled or similar.
- that we comply with international, national and local legislation, including within the environment, health, safety and labor.
- that our internet is provided by GlobalConnect, Denmark's first data center provider to have achieved an "Energy Efficiency Certificate" with an A-rating in energy efficiency.
GREEN KEY
As a guest, you also have the opportunity to contribute to a sustainable stay. You can:
- Leave your car and borrow a free bike during your stay.
- Turn off lights and electronic equipment when you are not in the room.
- reuse towels and linen an extra day.
- Save water.
- drink tap water instead of spring water.
- Minimize food waste – don't take more than you need from the buffet.
- help us by sorting your waste (waste containers for the purpose).
- Please contact the staff if you have any questions or suggestions for improvements.
We focus on environmental issues and want an open dialogue with our guests, employees and suppliers.
